Solar-aware charging

Charge from solar without babysitting the app.

GlintEV watches fresh production data, reserves power for the house, and adjusts charging as the day changes.

Solar logic

Turn excess production into miles while protecting the home.

Solar output changes constantly. GlintEV converts the latest production reading into a charging target using voltage, amp limits, amp step, and a configurable house buffer. If production drops below the minimum useful current, the controller can step down or pause.

When a solar reading is older than the configured freshness window, GlintEV assumes it cannot be trusted and treats solar as unavailable.

Example control decision Fresh PV reading

If data gets staleGlintEV can treat solar as zero and step down or pause.

Why it matters

Solar charging should respond faster than a time-of-use schedule.

01

Freshness protection

Old readings are not used to justify new charging. If the inverter stops reporting, GlintEV can assume zero solar.

02

House-first buffer

Reserve a block of production for normal home use before the vehicle receives more current.

03

Measured feedback

Where EVSE readings are available, GlintEV records actual amps and kW alongside requested charging.

Use case

Built for homes that already have solar and want charging to follow the day.

Start with one inverter and one EV, then add chargers, batteries, or additional vehicles as the site grows.
